José Luis López B.

Lawyer, graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He completed course studies at Universidad de Chile, Universidad Católica, the American Bankers Association and other institutions covering various other subjects related to economics, business administration, and corporate management, both in Chile and abroad.

He developed his professional legal practice in matters related to business affairs and public law, such as shareholder agreements and business collaboration agreements between Chilean and foreign investors, acting before financial institutions, the Central Bank of Chile, the Foreign Investment Committee, state agencies, and others. He has also accrued significant experience in contract negotiations with public corporations.

He has specialized in company incorporations, business affairs, tax matters, mergers and acquisitions, national and international joint ventures, privatizations, antitrust legislation, international investments, imports and exports, licensing and patent contracts, and banking and financial matters.

With regard to the jurisdictional protection of the rights of his clients, he has significant litigating experience, mostly in ordinary courts of law trials and in arbitration tribunals, also in remedies of protection, of economic amparo and of free and fair trade before special courts, such as public procurement and free competition tribunals.

Consistent with his academic and teaching activities, mainly at Universidad de Chile in department chairs such as State Management and Development, Constitutional and Economic Law, and International Trade Law, among others, specializing in issues related to advising investors in the development of sustainable projects fully compliant with current environmental regulations.

He has also served as arbitrator judge in the settlement of business disputes.
